“My Life, My Way”
On Friday 7th March 2008 we had a day on Person Centred Planning called “My Life, My Way”. Over 70 people came, and it was a really enjoyable day! We learnt about Person Centred Planning and how it has helped people’s dreams come true. We got a chance to think about what our dreams and gifts are, and what we want for the future.
“My Life, My Choice Day”
We had a day in April 2007 so our members could hear about direct payments and how they can help people be more independent. We also heard about the ‘In Control’ project that is being piloted in Bournemouth.
"Employment Day"
About 60 people came to our "Employment Day" on 25th of September 2006.Our members
introduced the day and spoke about the "What We Do In The Day-
Kevin Nash from the Community Employment Service talked about the different types of work and support you can get.
Penny Greengrove from Job CentrePlus talked about the advice and support they give.
